What is a hormone? How does it depend on enzymes?

And difference between them?

Difference Between Enzymes and Hormones

The human body is a complex machine that requires numerous biological functions to function properly. Numerous chemicals enable essential life-sustaining functions by assisting our anatomy and physiology. Enzymes and hormones are two categories of these "chemicals."

The fact that hormones function as messengers that initiate a variety of body functions is one of the main distinctions between enzymes and hormones. On the other hand, enzymes serve as a catalyst for a reaction.

Hormones vs. Enzymes

The main difference between enzymes and hormones is their chemical makeup. Proteins make up most enzymes. Hormones, on the other hand, can be composed of proteins, amino acids, or even steroids. The following is a summary of all the other major distinctions between hormones and enzymes.:

The Difference Between Enzymes and Hormones

Enzymes

Hormones

Catalyst: speed up  the rate of a reaction

Messenger:     body

Predominantly consist of proteins

Consist of proteins, amino acids, steroids, etc

Retains chemical make-up after use, hence can be decrease

Chemical composition changes afterward use, as a consequence may or not be reused

factors highly bear on the regulation of enzymes, as an example temperature, pH levels, etc

External factors do not affect hormones as acutely as enzymes.

           Exocrine glands produce enzymes

(salivary glands, gastric glands)

Endocrine glands produce hormones

(thyroid and pituitary glands)

Enzyme secretion is not much affected by age

Hormones secretion is affected by age (puberty)

Enzymes form and act at the site of production

Hormones form and act at different sites

Examples: Protease, amylase, and lipase are important enzymes for digestion

Examples: Melatonin is the hormone that regulates your circadian rhythm (sleep cycle)

Insulin is another hormone that regulates blood sugar

Conclusion

Hormones                                      reaction.
